About
Probably the best way to find out about me is to take a look at my Linkedin profile or follow me on Twitter.
But if that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity or your not actually interested in me and just want to know more about the blog read on.
Who am I?
I’m a mediocre surfer, a moderately good mountain biker and a User Experience Designer who bares an uncanny resemblance to the residence of the Shire.
I grew up in Dorset, on the south coast of England, and spent most of my time playing around in kayaks, on boards or on a mountain bike until heading off to Bath Spa University to study Design. I was fortunate to meet some very talented people whilst there. Alongside Steve Pearce and James Scully I won the RSA Student Design Award for Multimedia which lead to a job at Deepend London.
What do I do now?
These days I work at Redweb in Bournemouth as Head of User Experience. I still surf, snowboard, and mountain bike but not as much, or as well, as I used to.
What’s this blog about?
The reasons for the blog are threefold:
- I constantly see cool stuff that I want to share with others. I also see lots of rubbish stuff that I like to share too!
- It encourages me to write down some of the ideas that pop into my head.
- It’s a nice way to document all aspects of my life, not just the geeky stuff.
Why ‘Short Bored Surfer’?
Once upon a time I stumbled across Pedro‘s blog, ‘The Longbored Surfer‘. I liked the name, asked for his permission to completely rip it off and registered shortboredsurfer.com.
Basically, I’m short, I’m a surfer and I get bored easily so have to constantly find ways to keep myself entertained. Hence the name ‘Short Bored Surfer’.
